Biography

The family of William August Engels Sr. mourns the loss of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Bill was an honest and compassionate man who had a great sense of humor and deeply loved his family. William was born on July 22, 1930 in Chicago, IL and worked at ADT Security Systems for 40 years as an electrician. He loved watching and playing golf whenever he could as well as traveling across the country with his family. William A. Engels Sr., age 90, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2020. Bill was predeceased by his wife Carole, sons Brian and William Jr., and granddaughter Sarah Bowman. He leaves behind his loving daughters Cecilia (Jeff) Bowman and Diane Engels; granddaughter Megan (Daniel) Cerrito, as well as many nieces and nephews. His presence in our lives will be sorely missed. Visitation Tuesday, Dec. 29th , 3:00-8:00 pm at The Oaks Funeral Home, 1201 E Irving Park Road (at Prospect) Itasca. Family and friends will meet Wednesday Dec. 30th , 10:00 am for a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Ghost Church, 254 N Wood Dale Road. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
