Biography

Thomas C. Viehman, passed away June 6 at the age of 76; Beloved husband of Jeanette nee Risatti for almost 50 years; Loving dad of Stephanie (Miguel Angel) Ayala; Cherished grandpa of Angelita and Ezekiel; Dear brother of Jane Viehman and Mary (the late Bill) Wilcoxson; Brother in-law of Bruno (Rita) Risatti; Fond uncle and cousin of many; Dear son of the late Harold and Ruth Viehman. Raised in St. Louis, Wheeling WV, and Pittsburgh, Tom worked for over 30 years at the Social Security Administration in Chicago. In his free time, Tom was an award-winning umpire for many high school and college baseball teams. He also officiated at the Big Ten Conference Baseball, Summer American Legion, semi-pro baseball, adult softball at the Itasca Park District, and others in and around Chicago. He enjoyed traveling, spy novels, and music “when music was music”. He was an enthusiastic dancer who caused raised eyebrows on the dance floor. He will be greatly missed. Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, June 16th from 3:00-8:00 pm with a Memorial Service beginning at 7:00pm at The Oaks Funeral Home 1201 E. Irving Park Road (at Prospect), Itasca, IL.
