Shirley Ann Nelson

Shirley Ann Nelson (nee Williams) was born in Oak Park, IL and grew up on Race Ave in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago, where she loved her childhood and grew up with her sister Virginia “Ginger” and brothers Frank and Jim. Later she lived and worked in Itasca, Medinah and Roselle where she and her husband of 49 years, Bob, raised their children Tammy, Scott, and Shaun. Shirley loved her many years working at Medinah Country Club, adored her grandchildren and great granddaughter, and was always proud of all her kids. Shirley is survived by her husband Robert “Bob” Nelson, her children Tammy (Jerry) Kolschowsky, Scott Nelson, and Shaun Nelson (John Baker), sister Virginia (Andrew) Miedema, brothers Frank Willams (Joan Bratton) and Jim Williams, grandchildren Nikki (Jerry) DeMarco, Jake (Madeleine) Torcasso, and Gina Torcasso (Jake Anderson), and great-granddaughter Hayes Torcasso Anderson. All who knew her will miss her and carry her strength and spirit with them.
