Salvatore Arthur Campagna was born on July 30, 1924, in Long Island, New York. He grew up in Long Island until he left high school in December 1941 to enlist in the Navy. After serving four years in the Pacific, he returned to his high school to complete his education. Sal studied for the priesthood and was ordained a Roman Catholic Priest for the diocese of Patterson, New Jersey, Having served in various parishes over the years he resigned from the priesthood and continued his studies in Counseling Psychology. He met and married Ann Prete Campagna in 1977 and moved to Itasca, Illinois, serving as the School Psychologist at Lake Park High School in Roselle, IL. Sal joined CITI (Celibacy is the Issue) and continued serving Catholics at their request, performing marriages and baptisms. After his retirement from Lake Park, he continued in private practice doing what he loved most, helping people. He served his country, his church, and his family selflessly. Sal entered eternal life November 21, 2021, at the age of 97. He is survived by his wife, Ann, his sister-in-law Carol Holl and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation on Saturday, November 27, 2021, 9:00 a.m. until prayer service, 11:00 a.m. at The Oaks Funeral Home, 1201 E Irving Park Rd (At Prospect) Itasca. Interment private.
