Michael Anthony “Mike” Cascella age 76, passed away on January 13, 2022 while surrounded by his family. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Sandra. Mike was a loving father to Mike Jr. (Rebecca) and Renee (Chris) Orvino; cherished and active grandfather to Michael Thomas, Sam, Johnny and Michael Nicholas. He was a cherished uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many. Mike had a feisty spirit, he demonstrated his love and devotion through his actions. He had a steadfast love for his family, especially his wife. He took on the honorable role of caregiver during his wife’s long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. His love and devotion to Sandra never wavered, even during the most difficult times. He showed us what it meant to keep going when life gets tough and how to give selfless love. To say he was a man of great character is an understatement. He will be greatly missed by so many. His life, memory and lessons that he taught us through his actions will live on through the many lives he touched during his time with us. Mike was a proud veteran of the US Army in which he served our country while stationed at Ft. Benning, GA. Mike was also a survivor of the Our Lady of Angels School fire which occurred on December 1, 1958. He was preceded in death by his cherished brother, Joseph Cascella; his parents, Jenny and Joseph Cascella as well as the love of his life, Sandra. Visitation Sunday, January 16th, 3:00 – 8:00 pm and Monday, January 17th, 8:00 am until time of funeral, 9:15 am at The Oaks Funeral Home 1201 E. Irving Park Road (at Prospect), Itasca to Visitation Church, Elmhurst. Mass 10:00 am. Interment private.
