Kimberly Ann "Kim" Hogan, 65, of Palatine, IL passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024. She was born on July 7, 1959, at Hinsdale Hospital, Hinsdale, IL.
Kim lived a life filled with love, compassion, and a strong sense of community. A devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend, she brought joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her laughter was contagious, and her kindness was felt by so many. Kim was a woman of strength, known for her classroom smarts, voracious love of reading, Chicago sports teams, and all things Charlie Brown.
After Kim graduated from Lake Park High School in 1977, she went on to study Intermediate Education and Teaching at Concordia University in River Forest, IL.
After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree, she began her teaching career at Bethesda International Academy in Chicago, IL where she was awarded Teacher of the Year for her exceptional teaching skills, dedication to her students, and significant positive impact on her classroom and school community. She then transferred to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and School in Itasca, IL, where she taught and coached for eight years and was best known for Walcamp, awesome field trips and Miss Hogan’s 4th Grade End of Year Picnic. More recently, Kim became a Personal Care Provider, underscoring her deep love of people and her compassion for those in need.
She is survived by her mother Judy Hogan; siblings, Patrick, Tim (Debbie) and John (Melody) Hogan; Aunt Jill Brennan and cousins, Kelly Brennan Cacciatore (Joe) and Keith Brennan (Donna); her nieces and nephews, Dustin, Sean and Ellie Hogan, second cousins Courtney and Jack Brennan, and many dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Kim was preceded in death by her father, John “Jack” Hogan.
A celebration of Kim’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 3:00-7:00pm at The Oaks Funeral Home, 1201 Irving Park Road, Itasca. Friends and family will meet at The Oaks Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 from 8:00-9:30 am processing to Lutheran Church of St. Luke Cemetery, 1301 Nordic Road, Itasca for a 10:00 am Funeral Service.
