Biography

John C. Komala, age 87, beloved husband and best friend of 53 years to Vera nee Benson; dear father of Kimberley Davis, Cynthia (Carl) Kollar, Suzanne Komala, and the late Kerry Komala; grandfather of Jeffrey, Patricia, Miranda, and Michael; loving brother of Bill (Karen) Komala, the late Fred (Arlene) Komala, and the late Ted Komala; dear brother-in-law of Joyce Komala and Swedish family who he loved so much: Stig (Ingrid) Benson, Gosta (Tora) Bengtsson, Irma (the late Nilsgunnar) Nilsson, Brita (Eril) Bendz, Lennart (Rita) Bengtsson, and the late Karl-Eric Benson (Sonya (Don Cates)); adored by numerous loving nieces and nephews. John was a loyal employee at Ragnar Benson, Inc. for 45 years. We all loved him dearly, and we will hold John in our hearts and joyfully look to the moment when we will be together again. Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 21st 9:30-10:45am, followed by a Celebration of Life Service, 11:00am at St. Matthew Church, 733 N. Catalpa Ave, Itasca, IL 60143. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in John’s name to Alexian Brothers Hospice Residence, 901 Martha Street, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007.
