Frank Wojcicki, age 91, resident of Itasca. Beloved husband of Rose (nee Ryndycz) for 71 years. Loving father of Dennis (Kathy) and Chris (Debbie) Wojcicki. Cherished grandpa of Kate (Mike) Conti, Betsy (Conor) Bruen, Nick, Billy, Joe, and Olivia Wojcicki and G-Gpa to Jack, Tommy, Mary, Will, and Clare. Dear brother of the late Richard (Ida) Wojcicki. Frank is survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
Frank, a lifelong Cub fan, loved to make people laugh and he’d give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He married Rose and a week later he was shipped off to basic training then to Greenland to build airfields as a carpenter to serve in the Korean War. Back on the mainland he worked for years at White Way Sign company as a pattern maker laying out the great neon signs of the late century. A claim to fame of his that still exists today are the pinwheels on the scoreboard at White Sox Guaranteed Rate field. Frank was an artist. Through the years, for many friends and family, he would draw and color fantastic signs with famous characters for birthdays, weddings, and you name it. He coached his sons at White Cap little league at Hanson Park and he was famous for his booming voice yelling an extended “BEA-UUUUU-TEE-FUL” across the fields at the park, at celebrations and just whenever you needed a pick-me-up. Frank was truly a beautiful man, and he is heaven’s gain.
