Biography

Evelyn M. Walz nee Connelly age 88 of Elk Grove Village passed away peacefully on Sun, Aug 8, 2021. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur J. Walz Jr. She was the loving mother of A. James (Jean) Walz, Mary C. (Jon) Couture and John R. (Cheryl) Walz; cherished grandmother of Sarah, Rebecca, Erin, and Evan Walz; beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Evelyn Connelly; dear sister of Lois (the late Daniel) O’Connell, the late John (Mae) Connelly, Patricia (the late Thomas) Kearney, the late Carol and Jack Hawley, the late James (Mary Lou) Connelly, the late Robert Connelly and the late Vivian and John Capalbo; Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews; Wonderful friend to many. Evie loved working in the library of Admiral Byrd grade school for over 20 years where she enjoyed seeing the young students grow up into such fine young adults. With a friendly smile and a kind “Hello”, Evie was always ready for a visit with family and friends. Her genuine love and caring for family, no matter how many, was so important to her. She was eager to share her experiences in life and lovingly provide you with advice, whether solicited or not. Her memory of birthdays was nothing short of amazing. Evie was such a special lady and will be missed by so many. May she rest in peace. Visitation Friday, Aug 13, 4:00-8:00 pm at The Oaks Funeral Home, 1201 E Irving Park Road (at Prospect) in Itasca. Family and friends will meet for a Mass of Christian Burial on Sat, Aug 14, 10:00 am at St. Julian Eymard Church, 601 Biesterfield Rd, Elk Grove Village, Il 60007. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
