Biography

Carmen Castaldo, age 68, valiantly fought an aggressive cancer with the support of his loving wife, Colleen and beloved daughter, Cristina (Shane) Niles. He leaves behind a sister Carol (Dennis) Streicher, sister-in-law Debbie Locascio, brothers-in-law Mike (Jane) Locascio, Tom (Mary) Locascio. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his great nieces and nephews who brought a smile to his face. Carmen had a very happy childhood provided by his late parents, Carmen and Mary. He was an active boy who enjoyed sports and the company of extended family at all holidays. He attended DeVry University earning his degree in Electronics. He enjoyed a long career in Quality Assurance. He was known for his work ethic, never refusing overtime. Carmen always enjoyed family parties and events. All of his nieces and nephews remember him for his great big hugs. He was known for his exuberance and ability to have fun Visitation Sunday, March 19th 4:30-7:30 pm and Monday, March 20th 8:00 am until time of funeral, 9:30 am at The Oaks Funeral Home 1201 E Irving Park Rd (at Prospect), Itasca to Holy Ghost Church, Mass 10:00 am.
