Biography

Alice Smith, age 98, of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, formerly of Chicago, Illinois and Trinity, Florida passed away peacefully at home February 8, 2022, with her daughter Janet Gradisca by her side. Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Edward Smith, and her Son Jim Smith. Alice was the Mother-in-Law to Lee Smith and Bruno Gradisca whom also preceded her in death. Alice was also preceded in death by her parents Casimir and Helen Kujawa, her brothers Herman and Tommy and her sister Berniece. Loving and devoted Busia to Brian (Amy) Smith of Tampa, Florida, Sue (Jim) Pickett of Munster, Indiana and Tony(Michelle) Gradisca of Aurora, Illinois. Kind, loving and awesome Great-Grandmother to Ashley (Manny) Lopez, Zack Pickett, Peyton and Cooper Smith, Nathan, Gianna and Carson Gradisca. She was an Aunt and Cousin to many and a friend to everyone she met. An avid Chicago Cubs fan lucky enough to see them win a World Series in her lifetime. She also loved to watch golf on TV to catch a glimpse of her Grandson Brian whom she was so proud of, in fact she was proud of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Alice was the BEST Mom, Aunt, Busia and Great Grandma who was loved by her family and many friends and would do anything for them and always with a smile on her face. She was kind and giving and witty and never put herself first. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. Rest in Peace dear Mom, Aunt and Busia.
